The Cruelty Free Beauty Box – October Edition

The Cruelty Free Beauty Box unopened

Hi Lovelies,

Back again with another review of my fave beauty box, The Cruelty Free Beauty Box – October Edition. You may have read my previous review on it here. I really love their selection and you can actually go on and purchase the individual products through their store so if you love something in the box, you can easily repurchase online. I especially love their ethics, being cruelty free and most of all, taking the hassle out of researching those individual cosmetic companies and their policies makes shopping a whole lot easier.

Sadly, the cosmetic world is full of animal testing, even in this day and age and the culprits are often hard to spot. Any products that are sold in mainland China are subject to animal testing, as it is part of the conditions for being allowed to sell cosmetics there. That means that even if a company don’t test on animals, if they sell in China they are permitting it.

I know I can happily shop at The Cruelty Free Beauty Box and know the products are cruelty free and I love the fact that most of their products are natural. The Cruelty Free Beauty Box is a great way to try out new natural products, which I love! It is a surprise when it arrives and it is fantastic value for money. I am so impressed with The Cruelty Free Beauty Box October edition. Here is what I got –

The Cruelty Free Beauty Box October contents

BAO (Beth’s Aromatherapy Organic) Hydrate Rose Mist. All BAO Skincare products are natural, and free from artificial perfumes, petrochemical parafin, mineral oil or wax and harsh preservatives, chemical or parabens, so a big thumbs up to that. It is handmade with love – cute! The packaging is really nice, fully recyclable and the spray bottle is easy to use. I way prefer using a facial mist as opposed to toner nowadays.

It’s so refreshing in the morning and no need for cotton pads so cuts down on waste. You mist all over your face and neck which brightens the skin, softens and gives a glowing complexion. It contains rose water, aloe vera, plant-based hyaluronic acid and frankincense oil. I love the smell of rose water and it makes a great toner so I am chuffed with this. It is a nice size 30ml lightweight bottle so a generous sample that is ideal for popping in your handbag and perfect for travelling. Yay!

Naissance Rosehip oil. This is 100% organic rosehip oil so I am really happy to receive this in my October box. I love rosehip oil and often mention it on the blog. It is packed full of antioxidants and nourishing skin properties. It is wonderful as a facial oil. I love massaging it onto my skin as it’s comforting. It helps reduce red marks and acne scarring so that is one of the main reasons I use it. This one is Soil Association certified so definitely a good choice.

Sknfed 100% Natural Organic Chocolate Bar Face Soap. Full size cocoa and vanilla. Wow, I love this so much! It smells just like chocolate and I even thought it was a chocolate bar when I first spotted it in the box! The concept is brilliant, I never saw this before but I would definitely buy this in future. I am a big chocolate fan so the idea of washing in chocolate soap really appeals to me! The smell is so scrumptious, I adore it. The fact that is 100% natural makes it an ideal choice for me.

Organic is a huge plus point. I can happily lather myself up in chocolate, guilt-free! It has Shea butter, coconut nectar and jojoba esters. It is suitable for vegans and vegetarians. You break off some soap, lather it up in warm water and apply to the face. In a circular motion, exfoliate the skin. You can use it on the body too so I use a piece when I hop in the shower and it’s so handy. No need for any extra cleanser or body scrubs. It is minimal fuss which I love and no wastage again so great for the environment.

I switched to soap a while back and way prefer it now anyway. Being able to find a soap that I can use on my face is fab. It won’t get soggy or soft in the shower like some soaps either because you just use a square at a time. Genius!!

CHOBS (CH Organic Beauty Store) Collagen Face Mask Pack. Oooh, I love a nice face mask, especially now that both my babies are at crèche and play school now. I am so delighted to have time to chill out and relax with a face mask on. Ahh the little things in life. I have missed my little pamper sessions so this has come at just the right time. Thank you!!!

So this is a pure natural tencel sheet (sheet mask) and consists of 100% natural ingredients. You pop it on after cleansing and toning (I used my lovely rose mist toner) and leave it on for 10-20 minutes. Gently pat onto the skin with a tapping motion to make sure the product is evenly distributed, avoiding the delicate eye and lip area. This is a really hydrating mask and leaves your skin so soft, I really noticed a difference in my overall skin texture and tone afterwards.

I have heard of the brand before and would definitely look at purchasing from the range. They are Cosmos Natural certified, vegan and Halal. They are a Korean brand and I believe this is the first time I have ever tried Korean skincare so I can see what all the fuss is about.

Manna Kadar HD Volumizing Mascara. This is a cute little mascara sampler and again, ideal for travelling and having in your pocket for touch-ups. It is quite subtle so would suit a day-time look and is not too flashy for work. It is buildable which I like, since you can play with the length and volume to your hearts content. It doesn’t clump or leave excess mascara behind. I haven’t noticed any flaking at all and no panda eyes the next morning. Thumbs up from me!

My verdict on The Cruelty Free Beauty Box October Edition is – brilliant! You can get it for as little as £14 a month on a subscription and the products are top notch. To have someone carefully curate artisanal and top quality brands, all ethically sourced and with the best natural ingredients is a delight.

I think it’s a breath of fresh air to have cleverly selected natural and organic goodies to try out every month without having to research online, go traipsing around the shops or waste time scanning the shelves, reading the often perplexing labels.

Have you ever tried The Cruelty Free Beauty Box? Let me know in the comments! If you want to check it out for yourself, you can even order a one-off box, a 3 month or the 6 month subscription.
