Hi Lovelies,
It’s that time of year again and I am a judge for the Clean Beauty Awards 2022! This year I was assigned the category of natural facial care. The products I received were mainly facial cleansing milks and I had a facial soap, a micellar makeup remover and a honey cleanser to try out. I adore being part of this amazing process each year.
I received the products one by one over the space of a couple of months and I dedicated at least a week to each one. I was happy to have the category of facial cleansers as I was running out of my own and these came at just the right time.
The first product I received was the Ananné Lavanticum Nourishing Cleanser and Mask. It can be used as a wash off cleanser or a mask so I tried the mask first. The mask is very gentle and soothing on the skin. You would hardly even notice you had on a mask actually. It has a slick texture and is hydrating. You only need a small amount so its not cakey or irritating like some clay masks can be. Its made from 100% plant based organic actives such as borage oil, buckwheat and ginger.
You leave the mask on for 10-15 mins and rinse with warm water. It’s vegan and cruelty free. I noticed a difference in my skin after the first use. It seemed clearer and felt very smooth and refreshed. I was delighted to discover this multi-tasking premium natural skincare product.
I think this cleanser and mask is ideal for my skin. It is so soothing and feels great on my skin. After a week I had noticeably clearer and dare I say, glowing skin. Result! It’s a big thumbs up from me. Sometimes it is worth a little luxury splurge!!
Next up is the Carin’Duo Bi-Phase Micellar Makeup Remover. It is all natural and of course silicone free. It is very lightweight and non-greasy formula. It glides on and removes makeup easily.
It takes off every scrap of mascara and lifts away makeup effortlessly! I have to say I love this product. It is a part of my every day routine now and I hate not having it to remove my makeup at night if I dont have it handy.
I definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a high quality, easy to use makeup remover. It doubles up as a cleanser too so what more would you want? It removes lipstick, eyeshadow and foundation too. I will be continuing to use this and would definitely purchase again.
Product number 3 is the Moor Spa Cleansing Milk. I have had the honour of trying the Moor Spa product range before and blogged about it here. They are a lovely brand and their products are so amazing. Having tried their mud mask, serum and face cream I was happy to check out their cleanser.
The Moor Spa cleansing milk is for dry and sensitive skin types mainly. The main ingredients are olive oil, coconut oil, geranium, arnica, chamomile and lavender. All very soothing and gentle on the skin. So this is nourishing and calming for tired and sensitive skin. It has a lovely scent too.
So I was happy to introduce this cleansing milk to my routine and love the ritual of massaging it on my face as it has a nice consistency too. I recommend it for anyone with sensitive skin/redness/dry skin. It is also hydrating and my skin felt soft.
Product number 4 is the Calli Essentials Pure Botanical Cleansing Milk with chamomile and calendula. First off, I absolutely loved the branding and the pretty blue bottle with the handy pump. This looks great on my bathroom sink. Secondly I love the scent of this. It has a lovely relaxing scent.
This is so nice as a facial massage product before bed or first thing in the morning. It is very soothing and has a nice consistency. I would say this cleansing milk is best for the second step of a cleansing routine if you happen to wear makeup. It definitely works better on clean skin.
I enjoyed the feel of it on my skin and the scent made it a nice ritual. I think this would be suited for people with rosacea and sensitive skin. It is hydrating and calming.
Product number 5 is the Uvina Skin The Isabel Cleansing Bar. First thing I noticed about it was the smell. It is infused with peppermint leaves and natural oils. Peppermint leaves have natural antibacterial and antiseptic properties, which can relieve irritation and are cooling and soothing.
The scent was nice and I left mine in the shower to use as a face wash in the mornings. It was a nice soap and I was glad to have a soap dedicated to facial cleansing on hand in the shower. I did notice I needed to follow with a moisturiser but that is to be expected. It is low fuss and eco friendly.
Product number 6 is the Ryes & Shine Honey Cleanser. I loved the reusable glass bottle and pump. The branding is cute and I have to say, I have always wanted to try a natural honey cleanser! I wrote various blog posts on here about the benefits of honey and how it works so well on my skin.
So needless to say I was delighted to get to try this out. Well, I was not disappointed as the honey cleanser is really great for my skin. It feels lovely and soothing, washes and cleanses the skin purely and feels so natural.
I am reaching for this cleanser every day and it is one I would recommend. Especially for someone suffering from acne. When I had acne, one of the first and only things to help get rid of it was natural honey. It is a wonderful natural antibiotic.
It is not too sticky and mixes well with water. I use this regularly and the bottle is almost finished. Well I will probably re-purchase this one and I can re-use the glass bottle pump for a soap dispenser so I am happy about that.
So thats a wrap from me. Just want to say a big thank you to all the brands for sending me these gorgeous products to try and of course to the lovely ladies Marie and Jenise at CertClean for this amazing opportunity to work with you again. So happy to be part of such a fantastic movement that is the clean beauty revolution.
Stay tuned for the results of the winners of this years Clean Beauty Awards. I will be posting the winners as soon as they are announced. Good luck to all the brands involved!
