Tasty Bacon, Avocado & Tomato Salad

Hi ya,

I had been pondering what to blog about today since early this morning as i have so many things i want to share. Honestly, i have heard of writers block but this is the opposite! Thats when it came to me and i was enlightened with the perfect post idea which is this dreamy and tasty bacon, avocado and tomato salad! Top of the list priority. Heres how it was inspired..

My two babies were finally asleep at the same time and it was (is) pure bliss. Peace and quiet at last haha. I finally have a spare hour or so (fingers crossed!) to work on my blog. I sat down to begin and was stumped as to where i would start. All of a sudden i had so many ideas racing around in my head so i said, ok, its time to eat first and foremost since i was absolutely starving. Its hard to get a chance to feed myself with all the running around i do. I have a two year old and a two month old so you can imagine it gets a little crazy around here. To say the least. Toxic Beauty Products in your cupboards. Know what you are applying…

Today I am writing about the dangerous toxins in regular everyday beauty products and how they can affect us. I think people need to be more aware of the dangers and so I am going to explain what the worst offenders are and how to spot them. The truth is, most people don't even look at the ingredients on their fave products and just assume if they have passed the tests they are obviously safe. Unfortunately, there is a massive amount of leniency given to the companies as to what they may use. I recently watched a documentary on just how many chemicals are in our beauty regime and learned the ugly truth about cosmetics in todays market. It was called "Our Chemical Lives".

Coconut Milk Shampoo

I have recently had a baby and so my days of hair straightening and styling are out the window. I have a naturally curly, messy and unruly mane. Most people have never seen me with my hair curly since i have been heat straightening it with a hairdryer and tongs for about the last 15 years! I can’t believe i ever had so much time on my hands to maintain it for so long. My high maintenance hair days are long gone now haha. I would never find the time with 2 babies under 3 so i have started my quest to find really nourishing haircare in the hope it will repair the years of damage to my once silky curls. I had been saving all the healthy hair tips i can get my hands on for the last year or so believe it or not! I knew this was coming since who really has time to straighten hair with 2 babies? So my hair has basically been a frizzy and unkempt mess for the last while. Arrgghhhhh!!! read more

The Power of Positive Thinking

Hey there,

Today im sharing my experience with the power of positivity and the effect it has had on my life so far. A few years ago, a friend recommended the book “The Secret” to me. She explained how she had a group of friends who all read the book or watched the DVD and miraculously, all of them had turned out to be be successful and began leading truly fulfilled lives. I was mesmerised at the prospect but also extremely sceptical. I remember thinking to myself that i would look online and consider buying the book or DVD but i forgot soon after and never got around to it. Fast forward a few years and my memory was jogged while talking to someone else. This woman swore by the law of attraction through positive thinking and explained a similar fate. She mentioned a similar book called “The Power of your Subconscious Mind”. She said that once she read about the power of your thoughts and how to visualise the things you desire, things began to really change for the better. That evening i decided to purchase the book and see what all the fuss was about. Mainly out of curiosity to begin with. Soon i was hooked. read more

A skincare regime that works

Hi everyone,

I decided to share my daily skincare regime with you as it has been working so well for me of late. Since i started and followed the following regime, my skin has been bright, clear and dewy and im feeling confident with less makeup. Here are a few other contributing factors. I have been eating a healthy and balanced diet. I recently cut out sugar, but not completely as im a complete chocoholic so i still have a stash of 70% cocoa dark chocolate. And its Bio, if that makes it even more guilt-free. Apparently it is very good for you and its even recommended as part of a diet. So there you go, not like you needed any more reasons to indulge. The great part about it is, you only need a couple of squares of this stuff to beat the craving. Honestly, i kid you not and if you dont believe me, see for yourself. I have a couple of squares with my afternoon cup of tea and that satisfies my craving. To be honest i dont even miss sugar now. I stick to a mainly mediterranean diet and dont deprive myself. I take a skin, hair and nail supplement and incorporate a little light cardio. Exercise helps maintain elasticity of the skin and increases blood flow whilst improving the skin tone. And lastly i drink around 2 litres of water a day. Well thats most days anyway and the rest of the time im probably chugging wine haha. You know that red wine is good for you too? Ok, lets move on before i risk sounding like a wino haha. Heres what i do- read more
