I have been so busy lately, but I’ve been wanting to do a post on my latest find, eco friendly dental supplies by Brushd. Hope you are all enjoying the new year, even though January can be a drag. I have decided to start my new years resolutions on February 1st this year instead, since January is a miserable month altogether I think!

Anyhoo, I want to get healthy and fit again as that seems to have slipped big time for me over the last few months. Feeling very sluggish and much like a couch potato at the moment. Another big thing on my agenda for new year, new me is fixing my dental issues.

I have been having trouble with my gums this last year and have had a deep clean done with laser treatment. This has caused some bother, since my gums have receded and I have to go on a serious mission to maintain healthy gums now. This means brushing a minimum of three times a day, flossing and using mouthwash.

Okay, well I have got into the habit of it now so its not such a chore but honestly, this is the first time in my life I have flossed! I know, shocking, right? I am terrible for overlooking the importance of flossing up until now. My teeth are overcrowded on top and so it was hard to manage before but now I have been shown how. This includes the use of interdental brushes and floss.

My gums used to bleed after brushing and now they never bleed and are a pale pink colour as opposed to red. That is what healthy gums look like, so finally I am on the right track. In order to keep them that way I need to be extra vigilant. I will also need regular visits to the dentist for professional cleaning.

I have been meaning to try an eco friendly toothbrush for ages now and also, hated the idea of using the plastic inter-dental brushes which get discarded in the bathroom bin, as they are so bad for the environment. I can’t stand the idea of all that plastic waste. Luckily for me, the lovely people at Brushd sent me some eco friendly dental supplies in exchange for an honest review!

Awesome, it couldn’t have come at a better time for me. After my deep cleaning dental treatment my gums were very sensitive so I was instructed to use a soft toothbrush. The toothbrush by Brushd is a life-saver! I adore this toothbrush, I swear I have never had a favourite toothbrush before or thought I ever would but hey, here I am!

I love the design, firstly as it is chic and elegant with lovely branding. It is made from bamboo so very eco friendly and it has black bristles so not only looks great but I can be sure it is thoroughly clean after I brush. Secondly, I love the softness of the bristles and the fact the go back into shape and don’t wear easily. Lastly, I just love that its not plastic.

I also received some innovative eco-friendly dental supplies to try, which are toothpaste tablets and mouthwash tablets in glass jars with metal lids, again very eco friendly and a great idea. I used those when I went on holidays and they’re so handy. I just popped 10 tablets in a little pouch when going for 5 days and they worked perfectly.

The mouthwash is handy too as you just pop one tablet in a glass of water and hey presto, your mouthwash is ready made! Very clever and cuts down on so much plastic waste so again, great for the environment and a welcome addition to my bathroom shelf as the bottles are super stylish.

The inter-dental brushes are literally the best ones I have tried. They last better than the plastic ones, clean better and are cute little bamboo ones. I have been getting great results from using those and will definitely purchase those again when I need more.

The floss is great too as I have a few very tiny gaps between my crowded teeth and it is ideal for that. Lovely packaging again, a little glass bottle with a metal top for holding the floss in place. Dainty!

I was absolutely delighted to receive some dental supplements too. They couldn’t have come at a better time for me as I was having that gum procedure done and was worrying about my dental health. I took one a day and I was happy in the knowledge my teeth were getting the vitamins they need.

So if you are looking to cut down on plastic waste this year, I highly recommend eco friendly dental supplies by Brushd. In fact, they are way better than any of the plastic toothbrushes and flossing tools I have used so far. The toothpaste and mouthwash were a hit and the dental supplements are something I will definitely be continuing with.
