It is summertime here in the south of France and it is getting hotter by the day. Luckily for me, I got some lovely sunscreen moisturizer and sun damage repair goodies to review. Just in time! Thanks to the lovely Robin, founder of SunLux for providing me with these wonderful products. So without further ado, here is my SunLux high antioxidant skincare review.

I received my box of goodies over a month ago and have been using them daily in order to give an honest review. I got a full size Lux Sunscreen daily moisturizer with broad spectrum SPF 25, a full size Red Tea Antioxidant Serum (comes in a lovely gift box), a full size lip balm (vitamin c antioxidant) and sample-size cute jars of the Tahitian Vacation Lux Body Butter, Dead Sea Soak, Garden Flowers whipped body mousse and little oil droppers of the Geisha Glow and UV Repair.

First up, the Lux Sunscreen Daily Moisturizer –

I found this sunscreen to be nice and calming on the skin. It is easy to apply with the neat pump applicator and small enough to pop in your handbag if needs be. It is white in color but leaves no white cast. It goes on easily and sinks in quickly. There is no problem with oily residue and it gives a nice matte finish.

It wears well under makeup and has SPF broad spectrum 25 so that gives good protection. I use another factor 50 spray mist over my makeup which I re-apply throughout the day to ensure I don’t burn. I do wear makeup daily but if you don’t wear makeup you can just use this by re-applying every 2 hours in the sun. This is great for a beach day and it is non greasy so great for everyday use with or without makeup.

The Lip Balm is antioxidant and has vitamin C for sun care. A great lip balm for summer as it protects your lips from sun damage. This lip balm has won an award as a winner by the Beauty Shortlist Awards. It is natural and has a citrus scent.

The Red Tea Serum is antioxidant and contains red tea extract and Hyaluronic acid. Red tea contains Super Oxide Dismutase which drastically inhibits the oxidation of skin cells, which helps to prevent free-radical damage to the skin. A luxurious oil that you can apply morning and night if you wish.

I personally only use it at night as I have an oily t-zone and wear makeup daily. I found that it was best to apply to a cleansed face before bed. My skin seems to be improving so I will definitely continue my evening ritual with this. It is a nice oil with soothing properties.

The Dead Sea Soak is made with goats milk and plant-based fragrance oil. It smells like vanilla milk and I used it as a foot soak. It was really softening on my skin and left my feet feeling pampered. I will be keen to use the rest of this in a proper bath when I finally get a chance! If you buy this in the full size it comes with a cute little spoon for scooping. Very cute packaging. Packed full of minerals and especially good for sunburnt, dry and damaged skin. Comes in a trio of bath soaks. Great gift idea.

The Tahitian Vacation Lux Body Butter smells divine and is lovely to apply. It soothes, hydrates and feels velvety like mousse. It is full of antioxidants and is made with Capuacu butter (a vegan alternative to lanolin). Especially good for sensitive, mature, severely dry and problematic skin. I loved the ritual of applying this after my shower. It melts onto your skin and leaves it feeling silky. A gorgeously indulgent pamper product. Comes in another scent also, which I got too – Garden Flowers and that is lavender and jasmine scent.

The UV Repair Oil is a blend of Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) and helps repair sun damage. It is formulated with St Johns Wort. Here is a snippet from their website.

Our star ingredient in this product, St. John’s Wort, has been studied topically for years by dermatologists around the world and has shown great results in helping to repair sunburns, burn wounds, and other topical skin conditions. The St. John’s Wort used in our product is “Hypericin Free” making our product non-sensitive to the sun’s UV rays.

A powerful oil and full of the best ingredients sourced from around the world. I am keeping this in case I get sunburn on my nose by accident again. I did get a little sunburn on the tip of my nose recently so I am glad to have this on hand just in case. I think I often touch my nose and unwittingly remove sunscreen so I am happy to have an oil for emergencies!

The Geisha Glow Oil is made with Tsubaki oil and is nut free and gluten free. Essential fatty acids and antioxidants which shield against harsh environmental pollutants. This is a luxurious blend and definitely delivers a glow to the skin. Also contains orchid oil extract and perilla seed oil and helps soothe and repair sun damaged skin. A lovely oil named Geisha oil as it is formulated using traditional oils used by Geisha’s which were prized and valued in their skincare routine. Awesome!

All in all I loved the SunLux range and feel safe in the knowledge that my skin is protected from the sun and getting the best of ingredients to help improve my skin daily.
