DIY Rose Water Toner & Makeup Remover

DIY rose toner in bottle

Hi Beauties,

I am sharing this recipe for DIY rose water toner and makeup remover today as I have been meaning to for some time now. I absolutely love rose water and of course, DIY skincare! This is quite easy to make and the results are wonderful. Rose water toner and makeup remover is all natural, works wonders for your skin and clears pores. If you have skipped toner in the past, this is one worth trying. I tried so many different toners over the years before discovering rose water toner and none of them seemed to work. This rose water toner and makeup remover is suitable for all skin types.

A lot of toners contain alcohol which is bad for the skin as it is drying so to be honest, I would shy away from those completely. I also dislike any harsh chemicals which are often present in a lot of store bought toners. It can be quite confusing trying to decipher what the chemicals are by reading the labels so I prefer to use a quality natural branded one or else save money by making my own DIY rose water toner. The rose water toner is actually just plain rose water but if you mix it with a little coconut oil, it doubles up as an efficient makeup remover. Your makeup slides off easily and leaves the skin feeling fresh and hydrated. It smells absolutely addictive too!

You can even spray a little rose water toner on your hair after conditioning as it is shine enhancing and smoothes the hair shaft. I often get tangles in my hair as it is really curly and rose water helps to detangle it so the rose water is a great all-rounder and a welcome addition to your beauty regime. I make up a batch every couple of weeks if I have time. If you haven’t got time, you can of course purchase rose water but here is the recipe anyway! Let me know if you try this and how you get on if you do…

So that is how you distill the rose petals to make rose water. You can also add one part witch hazel as a toner if you like although not necessary. I love the plain rose water toner and the smell is so good. For the makeup remover you just need to have some coconut oil handy, I keep mine in my bathroom cupboard. Put some on a cotton pad and add a couple of spritzes or drops of DIY rose water toner to the cotton pad and your makeup should slide off easily.

Voila!

Check out this lovely rose water I tried which came in the October Cruelty Free Beauty Box it is a lovely facial mist if you haven’t got time to make this. I also recommend the Neal’s Yard rose toner, as mentioned before many times on the blog!
