Lavender Uses and Benefits (Wellbeing, Skin and Hair Health)

A lavender bouquet with purple ribbon

Lavender has many uses and benefits for the body and overall wellbeing. Lavender (Lavendula angustifolia) is one of the most common and well known essential oils. It helps regenerate skin cells, promotes healing and helps produce healthier new cells. The sweet, mild aroma has calming properties and is often used for relaxation and as a sleep aid. Lavender oil can reduce stress and anxiety naturally.

It is soothing and healing when used on burns, insect bites and various skin conditions in the form of the floral water. It has antiseptic properties which help promote fast healing and minimise scarring. It can even be used on stings, ulcers, wounds and scrapes for the same reasons. read more

Yoghurt with berry coulis topping

Hi Guys!

As part of my health kick where I am sticking to the Mediterranean diet principles and trying to eat more homemade and locally sourced produce, I have decided to make my own yoghurt at home. You can read more about gut health in my recent post here – How to improve gut health naturally. read more

I genuinely believed from following the media that I needed something chemical made in a lab with the latest exotic plant to heal my recurring acne. I had often read about natural methods such as DIY products but always fobbed them off as too gentle to deal with what I considered severe problem skin. What I didn’t realise was that the harsh chemicals were making my sensitive skin worse and actually stripping the natural oils. The process makes your body produce even more oil to replenish it, resulting in more spots and irritation, even skin peeling in some cases. read more
