The Best Exercises for People with Limited Time and no Gym Membership

exercises

Hi Everyone,

Todays post is one I decided to do for anyone like me who has limited time and no gym membership. It is a list of easy exercises that can be incorporated into any busy schedule. I myself have very limited time due to having two babies under 3 at home and no babysitter. I am working on getting back my pre-baby body and it is quite hard to get out for a walk due to their sleep patterns sometimes so I came up with an easy to remember and not too strenuous regime that can be done pretty much on the spot whenever I have a spare few minutes! It works out great for me because I can’t get to the gym and have no equipment and sometimes I only manage a spare 15 minutes here and there. read more

My Favourite Oils for Skin and Hair Health

homemade skin and hair oil

Hi Guys,

I decided to compile a list of my favourite oils for skin and hair health to outline the various benefits and uses of these organic and natural beauty wonders! Hope they are useful for you and teach you a bit more about them so that you will try them out in your beauty routine.

These are my top faves in alphabetical order –

Almond Oil

Almond oil is made from almonds which are actually a fruit, rather than a nut but known mainly as a nut. The oil is pressed from the fruits seeds. The ground up almonds are a gentle exfoliant and rich in vitamin E. Aids in the removal of dead skin cells and renewal of skin. When the oil is absorbed by the skin, it protects it, even having a low SPF against the rays. It has a lovely consistency and blends well. Works best when massaged into the skin. Sweet almond oil is also great for hair growth and can work brilliantly as a serum. I have curly and often prone to frizz hair so I love using it to tame my unruly mane. You only need a tiny amount as it spreads well. I also use it on my eyelashes with a cotton pad as it promotes eyelash growth so its a fabulous all-rounder. Soothing for sensitive skin. Gentle enough for babies. read more

Why I’m Grateful for Gratitude and How it Changed my Life

Choosing positivity over negativity

Hi Guys,

I’m a firm believer in the law of attraction and the power of positive thinking, as you may know, if you happened to read my previous post “The Power of Positive Thinking”.

It all started when I decided to try out the theory of practicing gratitude daily. I read a few books about the power of positivity and the mind. I was intrigued how well it worked for me once I started to train my mind into thinking positively as much as possible. I would always look for the good side of a bad situation. The saying “always look on the bright side” comes to mind. The more I would consider myself lucky, it seemed the luckier I became! This may sound unbelievable to you and I even scoffed at the idea of this myself before I gave it a try. But I began to notice that the more positive I trained my mind to be, the more positive things began to occur in my life. read more

A List of Health Supplements and Their Uses

Hi Everyone,

I decided to do a list of health supplements as I have been taking them for years now and have really noticed a difference when I stop taking certain ones etc. For this reason, I really believe they do work and so I have compiled this list for you to decide which ones may benefit you. Whether its wanting to grow your hair and nails, achieve a better complexion or give yourself a health boost, there is a supplement that can most likely help. All of us are in need of different things, for instance, I don’t eat much seafood which is an essential part of the diet. Therefore, I take an Omega 3 supplement to give me the essential fatty acids that I don’t get enough of. I also eat flax seeds to make up for the lack of fatty acids such as Omega 3 in my diet. Basically, you can find the vitamins, minerals or oils you may be deficient in, in most cases, by eating an alternative food. However, this can sometimes be difficult to manage. An example of this, is when I was pregnant. I was taking a multi-vitamin tablet daily until I found out, then I needed to come off all my vitamins due to the doctors orders. I knew I was going to have a hard time eating as much iron as was expected due to being pregnant. You need way more iron than usual so without taking a supplement I was going to have to eat something like a steak and a whole bag of spinach daily! I tried my best to keep up with the high iron diet but it was tough going! In the end I needed to be prescribed iron tablets, which most women do when pregnant. Anyway, that is just an example of when it is required to supplement your food intake with a supplement. I just want to mention, before I go on, that you always need to consult your Doctor before commencing a course of supplements, whatever they are. All our bodies are different so it is best to be careful when taking anything you’re not used to. read more

Travelling Long Haul with Babies Checklist and Tips

organising your itinerary and planning ahead for travel with babies

Hello my lovelies!

We are heading off to New Zealand for four months and we’re sooo excited! All four of us, myself, my man and our two gorgeous girls aged 6 months and nearly 3, are embarking on a very long journey! We live in France so it’s basically the other side of the world. That is a full 24 hours away!!! Some may think we’re crazy, but it is our dream to revisit our favourite place in the world. We met there and I even got pregnant with our first baby girl, Tara, over there so it will be a nostalgic trip and we are over the moon to have the opportunity. We have always missed there and didn’t think we would get a chance to go back but we made it happen! Woohoo 😀 read more
