Homemade Whipped Body Butter

Make your own luxurious and personally designed, gorgeously scented body butter at home and at minimal cost! I have been researching all these lovely DIY at home spa treatments for the ultimate pampering experience, without the hefty price tag and i came across this lil beauty. I have seen these whipped body butters in jars at a spa for a ridiculous price and often wondered what was so amazing about them. Well, this recipe is all natural and made with essential oils so obviously it is excellent for the skin. The other thing is the luxurious feel of the lightweight formula which glides on and sinks in effortlessly. It really does feel as though you are pampering yourself when applying it so if you are looking for a bit of at-home spa primping this is ideal.

You choose the scent since it will be something personal that you love and makes you feel wonderful. So you will need to choose an essential oil, like lavender in my case since i love the scent and its relaxing. It also helps you to sleep so perfect for lathering on before bed.

Here is what you will need:

1/2 CUP COCONUT OIL

1/2 CUP SWEET ALMOND OIL

1 CUP OF SHEA BUTTER

15-20 DROPS OF ESSENTIAL OIL

METAL/GLASS MIXING BOWL

LARGE GLASS JARS/JARS WITH LIDS

Directions:

ADD THE COCONUT OIL, SHEA BUTTER AND ALMOND OIL TOGETHER IN A METAL OR GLASS BOWL

BOIL A 1/4 POT OF WATER ON THE STOVE, THEN PLACE THE BOWL OVER IT IN ORDER TO MELT

ONCE ITS MELTED, MIX WELL AND TRANSFER TO THE FRIDGE TO COOL

ONCE THATS SOLID, ADD THE ESSENTIAL OIL AND USE A HAND MIXER TO WHISK UNTIL CREAMY

IMMEDIATELY TRANSFER INTO THE GLASS JAR/JARS AND SECURE LID SO ITS AIRTIGHT

ET VOILA!

Use this amazingly silky body butter after a scrub for best results. Check out my natural scrub recipes on here and try for yourself. Its an inexpensive but fabulous way to have silky soft skin without the spa price tag. It can be a great gift idea too and your friends and family will love it!

No horrible preservatives and odd sounding chemicals or parabens involved and you can package nicely with some ribbon and a nice printed label for effect. I’ll be making a load of these in different scents for presents and of course for myself since i love it so much.

Lets know if you try any particularly nice scents and want to share in the comment section.

Cheers!
