Face Theory Pink Clay AHA Mask & CeraQuench Renewal Cream

Face theory pink clay mask and CerQuench cream

Hi Beauties,

I have found my new favourite face mask and I am so happy to be spreading the word about it! It is Face Theory’s pink clay AHA mask. As soon as I saw this I knew I had to try it. I love clay masks as they are the best kind of mask for my skin. I have combination skin which can be prone to the odd blemish so I always use a clay mask to help draw out impurities and balance my skin tone.

I had been hearing great reports about pink clay recently and was eager to try it for myself. I already use a French green clay mask so this one really appealed to me. I will just start by saying, I am a massive Face Theory fan ever since trying their Regencalm retinol serum and glycolic acid cleanser which I wrote about here. read more

Niacinimide, Biotin, Spirulina and Omega 3 Supplements

Niacinimide, Biotin, Omega 3 and Spirulina on a plate

I have been taking Niacinamide, Biotin, Spirulina and Omega 3 supplements for the last month and I have noticed great improvement in my skin, hair and nails. My nails are so much stronger and growing so quick now. I had been wanting to try Biotin for quite a while now as I am trying to grow my hair and had read that it is the best supplement to take for that. Biotin seemed to be expensive in most of the health shops but I managed to find a really reasonably priced one online to decided to give it a go. Obviously I won’t notice too much difference in my hair length just yet as it has only been a month but my nails are much stronger, I have had to cut them twice this month! That is impressive, they aren’t even breaking and I’m delighted about that as they were quite brittle before. My hair feels softer, shinier and healthier so I think I will stick with these supplements as my hair was very brittle and dry before and nothing seemed to be working in terms of hair oil masks and deep treatments. I guess I may have been deficient in some vitamins and nutrients. read more

Glow Time BB Cream by Jane Iredale Review (Full Coverage Foundation)

Glow Time BB Cream by Jane Iredale full coverage foundation

Hi lovelies,

I happened to purchase Glow Time BB Cream by Jane Iredale and here is my review! I love mineral makeup and have been doing a lot of research online to find the best full coverage mineral makeup for my skin. I have some redness and a few broken red thread veins around my nose so I need a full coverage makeup to camouflage that. I have become more confident without makeup since I have been noticing a reduction in the red marks and general redness of my skin, so for that I am truly delighted. However, I still need to have decent makeup and I have heard rave reviews about the Glow Time BB Cream by Jane Iredale with broad spectrum SPF 25. I have provided a link to purchase this product below. It is an affiliate link so if you make a purchase through my site, I make a small commission. It is no extra cost to you. Thanks! read more

Hit and Miss Natural Beauty Product Review

Hit and miss natural beauty products

This is the first ever hit and miss natural beauty product review I have done on the blog. Reason being, I like to show you what works for me and what doesn’t, even though everyone is different. I have combination skin with some dark spots from years of hormonal acne, the wrong products, wrong skin care and of course, the sun! Luckily, I discovered natural skincare a few years ago and since then my spots have retreated and I only get the odd breakout of a pesky spot now and then. Hallelujah!!! read more

Is Sodium Benzoate Safe? Here are my Findings…

a lab testing chemicals like sodium benzoate

Is Sodium Benzoate safe? Sodium Benzoate is a preservative chemical found in foods such as jams, sauces, soda drinks and more. It occurs naturally in fruits such as apples, cranberries, prunes and bilberry. It is also naturally present in some vegetables, prawns and dairy. It is often used in the cosmetics industry and in certain medicines (including over the counter).

The reason I am outlining the safety of sodium benzoate today is because my baby who is only 13 months had a severe allergic reaction to a teething gel recently. She broke out in huge hives and I was desperately trying to figure out what had caused them. I began going through everything she had eaten in the previous days and trying to establish if she had an allergic reaction to the foods. She hadn’t had anything out of the ordinary so I was desperate to find out what else it could be. It was a bank holiday weekend on Sunday and the Doctor was closed until Tuesday so I was worried but I luckily had access to a mother and baby group forum online where I posted a pic. A few of the other mothers mentioned they had seen this kind of rash and confirmed it looked like hives. I had been Googling it myself and it looked to be the same as the hive pics so rather than rush her to the hospital I decided to keep investigating. She had no fever and was absolutely fine other than this rash. read more
