The New 5:2 (Mediterranean Diet Combined with Intermittent Fasting!)

So excited to find out about the new 5:2! It is a Mediterranean diet combined with intermittent fasting by Michael Mosley. If you follow my blog you will know I’m a huge fan of both the 5:2 and Mediterranean diets. In fact they are the only two diet plans that have ever really worked for me. I had been discussing in my previous posts about embarking on the Mediterranean diet as it is the best diet in the world (voted by the top medical health practitioners worldwide year after year). As you may know, I am on the Mediterranean diet at the moment and I’m enjoying the health benefits – especially being allowed to have wine! Definitely a plus point. I don’t buy processed food anymore and I waltz past the sweets section in the supermarket these days without a second glance. It helps that I usually have a toddler and a 3 year old with me in the trolley so I’m steering clear anyway! read more

125 Calorie Tomato Soup with Fried Zucchini – 5:2 Lunch Recipe Idea

Hiya, so Im on another fast day on the 5:2 diet today and its going ok so far. I had a small breakfast of only a peach and a handful of blueberries so by lunch time i was really hungry. Decided to make my lunch an omelette with zucchini, red onion, a slice of bacon, chopped and garlic to fill myself up. It was quite nice and not unlike my normal lunch choice really. It comes to 223 calories, according to an app i have on my phone and breakfast was 56 cals so I'm up to 379 already. Looks like this will be my dinner since its only 125 cals! Perfect.

Exotic Chicken Stir-Fry with Almonds ONLY 338 Calories per serving 5:2 Diet Recipe

As promised I'm adding some 5:2 yummy recipes to take the edge off those fast days! I told you it wouldn't be boring and tasteless just because its low calories. This meal is full of protein for the day too so you will feel full after it and its very healthy too. You can always keep some for lunches in the next days or just divide the recipe ingredients by 4 if it is just one serving. Enjoy!!
