Light and Fluffy American Waffles Recipe

Hiya,

So yesterday I was lucky enough to find a fancy 3-in-1 toasted sandwich maker which has interchangeable plates to make waffles AND a grill, for 20 quid in Lidl! I was chuffed cos i had been looking out for a decent toasty maker for a while and the waffle option just sold it for me!

I have always wanted to own one of these bad boys so i could make my own waffles some day, so thats exactly what i did this morn when i got up. I have to share this recipe with you and i have changed a couple of things on it but it worked perfectly for me so they were really scrumptious. Nom nom.

I just used what i had on hand for toppings but the list is endless. For my breakfast i had one with lemon and icing sugar with some fresh strawberries and the other had honey and fresh raspberries for toppings. Both worked really well for the right amount of sweetness. This recipe makes the waffles with a little less sugar but if you prefer sweet you can add a bit extra.

They turned out just right in order of texture, light and fluffy with a light crispy shell and just enough chew. Im no expert but i have tried them in restaurants and cafes and never as nice as my own homemade ones. I have yet to try the original Belgian waffles but i will no doubt try out that recipe as soon as i find a good one!

These make an awesome breakfast if you put the effort in and are similar to pancakes in a way so a nice sweet treat for something different. Its a good way to start the day! I must say I’m dying to try out some dessert ones too, when i find some yummy ideas to try. Ice-cream would definitely go with these, yes please! So stay tuned for some more waffle recipes, i think this may be my new addiction. Heres the recipe to make them yourselves if you are lucky enough to own one of these waffle machines! If not, i suggest you invest in one asap. Enjoy!
